The Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries is the lead Programme Agency with overall responsibility for the management, coordination and oversight of the Program.

The other implementing partners include; County/Sub County Agricultural offices, Kenya Agriculture and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO), International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) Equity Bank Ltd, Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization and East Africa Grain Council.

Goal

Contribute to the National Food Security by increasing the production of the targeted cereal staples (Maize, Sorghum and Millet and pulses), increasing incomes of the smallholders in the production areas, and supporting smallholder farmers in graduating from subsistence to commercial agriculture.

Objectives

Objective specific to AGMARK: To build the capacity of Agrodealers in Enterprise Management and Technical Aspects of the Agrodealership.

Approach

The interventions include:

1. Training of Agrodealers on Business management and Technical knowledge on Seeds, Fertilizer and crop protection products
2. Conducting B2B forums between Input supply companies and Agrodealers and Equity Bank
3. Support on Input Bulk Procurement of Inputs and determining Input Access Points.
4. Conduct Agrodealer lead demonstrations plots.
5. Conduct Field Days.
6. Participate in other partners’ KCEP activities
